Melbourne’s own iconic design duo have been turning heads on red carpets everywhere lately, after a change of direction with their label led to a bigger focus on bridal gowns and red carpet fashion.

In the lead up to the big awards event, the JASONGRECH Style Office has been busy designing, sewing and adding the final Swarovski crystals by hand to their red carpet creations.

The pair is thrilled to be dressing Channel 7’s Melanie Vallejo, from the cast of hit new show Winners and Losers, Karen Martini, renowned chef and now food presenter for Better Homes and Gardens and WAG Nation’s Chantelle Raleigh.

Stunning Vallejo is being heralded as “TV’s new It girl” by the media.

Grech has designed a dress that will allow her stunning looks and individuality to shine on the big night – a corseted black strapless gown of Italian silk and French lace. It has a classic sweetheart neckline and is adorned with his signature intricate detailing – in this case, Jet Hematite Swarovski crystals.

“I didn’t want her in colour for this event. Melanie’s really beautiful and has an amazing shape so all I wanted to do was enhance her features,” says Grech.

Grech’s vision was for Vallejo to glide down the carpet. He added soft, layered godets of silk georgette to achieve that effect. Over 40 hours were spent on the handcrafted gown.

WAG Nation’s Raleigh is no stranger to JASONGRECH Couture.

“We’ve been working with Chantelle closely this year, and after the way she looked in the dress we created for the NBL/WNBL Awards Night, I wasn’t surprised when she called on our services for the Logies,” says Stylist Harry Georgiou.

Raleigh’s gown is a nod to old Hollywood glamour, featuring a plunging neckline and full skirt.

Chef Karen Martini will enjoy a night out of the kitchen and on the red carpet, and will surely impress in her beautiful, charcoal bias-cut gown. The plunging V-neck and georgette-draped detailing creates a simple, gorgeous silhouette.

Beauty and the Geek!

Dress up’s…. with twins Ellie & Brooke from 7’s Beauty and the Geek the day before Crown Oaks Day – they were fun, bubbly and very excited to be dressed in JASONGRECH for their first ever Oaks Day.

Their first adventure in style…. beginning the day at Nova FM’s breakfast party, chauffeur driven to Flemington and spending the day at the Emirates Marquee.

To turn heads and send the stallions crazy, we dressed the twins alike – both in our JASONGRECH curved dress detailed with a Swarovoski crystal/chain silk shoulder pad and matching head pieces. CUTE!!!!

Flemington Design Award

We were excited to be invited to enter the ‘invitation only’ 2010 Design Award for Flemington’s Fashion on the Field again this year and happy to report our work of art was a finalists.  Our entry began with a classic 2d story board of metallic gold, silk organza and resin feathers. The end result was a beautifully fitted strapless dress using an Italian silk cross weaved gold/black fabric, embellished with gold silk organza ruffles and silk satin belt.  We completed the look with a removable black sequin bat wing fitted cloak, leather gloves, satin peep toes shoes and our first JASONGRECH headpiece.

Our innovative millinery component was created with handmade resin feathers and Italian embellishment, famous for supplying designers such as Dior, Christian Lacroix and Chanel. The exclusive embellishment was the inspiration behind the look – it was unmistakable and avant-garde.  We know that you will agree that it was certainly a head-turner.

Jo Stanley & Derby Day

We were so thrilled to be contacted by one of our favorite clients requesting to catch up and discuss her Derby Day outfit!  I am not lying when I say that I am a huge fan of Fox FM’s Jo Stanley, she’s beautiful, easy to deal with, funny and full of bubbles.

Traditional Black and White? NO!

Form Fitting which shows her amazing body? YES!

After playing dress ups with Jo, we all decided on the Luxus dress. It’s made of beautiful hand woven silk dupion and has the most gorgeous pleated and gathered silk organza detail which runs up the body and over the shoulder like a snake.

Never being a able to predict Melbourne’s weather, we made a short cropped silk jacket to match the colour of  her new Christian Louboutin shoes.

Jessica Mauboy Crush!

We have a new crush and her name is Jessica Mauboy!

The JASONGRECH team was lucky enough to dress Jessica for iSelect Fashion Aid III, held Saturday September 11th in Melbourne at the Crown Palladium Ballroom.

Jessica walked the red carpet in her custom-made JASONGRECH gown – and (we’re probably biased) we happen to think she’s never looked so beautiful!

We created a brushed sequin long-sleeve mini-dress in a beautiful Oyster shade – which was sublime against her complexion – complete with silk organza detailing and a silk satin belt adorned with large Swarovski crystals. She loved it so much we decided to let her keep it! We can’t wait to show her the rest of the JASONGRECH Collection when she drops past the Style Office.

Of course, the other highlight of the night for us was putting our new JASONGRECH collection on the runway. The bird kingdom has inspired this collection with an emphasis on the elegant, proud peacock. Our models walked through floating coloured feathers as they fell from the ceiling, against a backdrop of the Melbourne skyline, a nod to our hometown that we love so much.

The rest of the night was a whirl of dancing, amazing food created by George Calombaris and Shane Delia from The Press Club Group and a great show put on by the organisers. Our donated auction dress sold for $3,500 (someone snapped up a bargain at $1,000 off what it’s worth!) and a lot of money was raised overall for the very worthy Mission Australia charity.

Richmond FC Best and Fairest

We dressed the lovely Jessie Habermann for her partner’s Best and Fairest Night (picture here with partner David Gourdis from Richmond FC). The bedazzling little number we created for her was a backless, long-sleeve mini-dress that was constructed from a black stretch sequin. She certainly was the belle of the ball!

Fevola dress to impress

Dancing with the Stars darling Alex Fevola  loves fashion so was happy to take a turn wearing JASONGRECH in the name of charity.  JASONGRECH has donated a $5000 gown to be auctioned to raise money for Mission Australia at the Fashion+Aid fundraiser gala at crown on Saturday 11th September.

Australian Boomers Hall of Fame

JASONGRECH was thrilled to dress the gorgeous Chantelle Raleigh for the Australian Boomer’s Hall of Fame night on Wednesday 18th August. The white jersey floor length gown featured a thigh high split and a one-shoulder sleeve with silver chain detailing. Chantelle and her partner, Adam Gibson, certainly looked absolutely divine!
